The Schools Annual Day was a huge success with pupils at their best demonstrating the four capacities of Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.

Al-Qalam Primary School Staff, Parents, Pupils and Volunteers will be seen at the Glasgow City Center distributing this leaflet to our guests and visitors welcoming them to Scotland.

Hackathon Week for High School Students
Hands-on experience on Business Management, Computing Science, Graphics Communications and Media Studies
Nat5/Higher/Adv. Higher
Al-Qalam is pleased to invite students from high schools in Scotland to gain practical experience on Business Management, Computing Science, Graphics Communication and Media Studies.
Students will get hands-on experience in Corporate Structure, Business Management, Computing, Graphics and Media Technology used in industry of their choice. Hackathon week is intended to take them through various experiences around the subjects they study and give them confidence in their understanding of the subject units in Nat5, Higher and Advanced Higher. This is an excellent opportunity for students to get a corporate insight on various subjects being taught by their teachers. There are prizes to be won including bursaries and attending a Developers Conference in Edinburgh. Registration closes 14th January 2018. Limited Spaces. |

Flexible Learning (2017)
In 2017 we offered parents this option which benefitted home-schooling students immensely. We could see the huge impact in their learning experiences and they went on to be successful in their progression. This service has been suspended due to lack of committment from home-schooling parents. Below is the ad we ran in 2017
While we do recommend parents to send their children to full time high school education, our flexible timetable for full time high school education provides homeschooling parents an opportunity to send their children for any or all of the following sessions.

Autonomous Schools Framework (ASF)Qalam Academy is pleased to lead the effort on providing a sustainable and effective framework for Autonomous Schools in Scotland.
It's ecoLearn methodology allows enhancement to CfE by incorporating new experiences and outcomes and providing a flexible approach towards delivering O's and E's. ILE will be a collaborative environment for all autonomous schools to share good practices. ILE can also be extended to independent and state schools who can contribute towards improving the delivery of primary and secondary education. Autonomous Schools Framework (ASF) will use Quality Indicator Grid (QUIG) which is a draft Quality Improvement concept that collates GIRFEC, HGIOS, SIP and other best practices indicators facilitating a benchmark for schools to maintain high standards and attainment.
